ROMEO of Whittier started in 1982 with several members of the La Mirada Presbyterian Church; two of the founding members still attend. 

We began meeting every Friday for breakfast, rotating between 12 different restaurants.  We have since designated the last Friday of the month as Ladies Day and brought our wives with us, a tradition that continues today. 
In 2005 we designed our shirts, red with ROMEO on the front and Retired Old Men Eating Out on the back.
