Wellington on the Lake, Ontario Chapter 

Introducing the ROMEO CLUB at Wellington on the lake, Ontario, Canada.

Wellington on the lake is an adult retirement community, situated on the edge of Lake Ontario, in the village of Wellington. Our American friends can quickly locate us by looking north from Rochester, NY, to the far shore of Lake Ontario. Prince Edward County has much historical significance in that the Loyalist passed through the area along a route which is now named , the “Loyalist Parkway” ( Hwy 33). 

We have approximately 550 residents. Of these, 33 members comprise our club and whose ages range from, 60 to 80 + years. We are an active, robust, enthusiastic group.

Formed in February 2009, we made, continued learning and search for knowledge, an important objective of our activities. We organized our members into teams of three, requesting each team to arrange an activity for a chosen month.  Each monthly meeting would include a luncheon following the activity.

We average 15 to 20 members for each activity we present.

The following is list of some activities we have completed:

Toured a local antique collectors private museum

Toured “Sears” largest distribution centre, Belleville, Ontario

Enjoyed an outdoor fishing contest

Toured a local cement plant to learn how cement is produced

Visited some of the local Casinos  

Toured a new Y.M.C.A. facility, Trenton, Ontario

Visited Canada’s largest Air Force Base at C.F.B. Trenton, Ontario

Toured the local historical Mariner’s Marine Museum

Enjoyed a 10 pin bowling contest

Tour O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) Forensic Facility, Belleville, Ontario

Visit Glenora Fish Hatchery, Lake Ontario Management Unit

Attend a Quinte Region Conservation Authority workshop.

Participate in a Migratory Bird Banding program at a local National Wildlife area 

.... and the list goes on.
